Yuri Navarro is a strategy consultant with more than twelve years of experience working with both government and businesses in the Canadian startup and technology investment sector.
In his role as CEO of Panache International,Yuri brings his unique mixture of public and private sector experience to help expand investment options for promising startups globally by launching and managing Angel and founder friendly Seed Funds in some of the world’s most rapidly developing markets. By building a global community of passionate investors and empowering ecosystems, Yuri is working to fund the world’s best startups, fueling their ambition to become the next global leaders.
Previous to his role at Panache International, Yuri worked as CEO to the leading organization representing Canadian Angel Investors with industry and government. Over his seven year tenure at the National Angel Capital Organization, Yuri presided over the renewal and growth of the Canadian Angel investor community by focusing on the organization’s value to stakeholders and supporting the growth and professionalization of Canada’s Angel asset-class with resources, best practices and research.
Yuri’s time in Government included working as Policy Advisor and then Chief of Staff to the Minister of Economic Development and Trade,and as a Policy Advisor to the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure. In these roles,Yuri was instrumental in supporting Canadian companies to overcome the challenges of working with government, and also took a leading role in developing the provincial strategy on energy conservation and smart grid for Ontario under the Green Energy and Green Economy Act of 2008.
In 2009, Yuri founded NAVY Global Consulting where he has worked with technology clients, mainly operating in the energy sector, to commercialize their innovative solutions and bring products to market. As an advisor to Ryerson’s Centre for Urban Energy, Yuri also supported efforts to set up theCUE’s business accelerator program and helpenergy sector entrepreneurs to comercialize thei rurban energy innovations.
Yuri is a graduate of Ryerson University’s Commerce program and George Brown College’s Financial Planning program and holds a number of designations with the Canadian Securities Institute.
